- General: Of the enemy's many boobytraps, one consists of a wire stretched across the road at night and any unfortunate motor cyclist who runs into this at night invariably receives fatal injuries. Sgt. Wilson of the Corps of Military police has devised a simple safety device consisting of a metal rod fitted to the front of the motor cycle, which, on contact with the trap wire, causes it to pass harmlessly over the Cyclist's head (25 October 1944).
